Dispersal Order - Ossett |

|
Dear Resident
A Dispersal Order has been authorised in Ossett town centre from 4pm today (30 October).
The Order has been put in place by our Neighbourhood Policing Team to assist with recent anti-social behaviour concerns in the area. It will run from tomorrow until Sunday at 4pm (30 October to 1 November) and means police officers and designated PCSOs have powers to exclude a person from an area for that entire period.
The area the dispersal order covers is Ossett Town Centre including the bus station, Prospect Road, Queen Street, Dale Street, Ventor Way. The dispersal order will also cover Ossett Skate Park on Church Street, Station Road, Green Park and Southdale Playing fields.
Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 means that individuals aged 10 or over engaging in anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder can be asked to leave the designated area not only when an incident has happened, but also when it is felt that it is likely to happen.
Additionally, it means that a child aged under 16 can be removed to their home address or a place of safety.
Failure to comply is a criminal offence and can result in imprisonment and/or a fine.
You can report anti-social behaviour to us online: Report anti-social behaviour form | West Yorkshire Police
